Hampton Explorers

Many thanks to all of those that helped on Sunday in selling programmes, clearing up etc. We won’t know how much we raised for a while yet – if you’ve got programme sales monies to bring in please do so ASAP.

Also, as you should know Sedan Chair rally is cancelled – but there is a Foresetry Course on the same weekend – information in the camps section.

We start back at explorers on Monday 1st September – make sure you read the email and bring your subs and forms to this meeting.

Remember, to come along and support this event – we need help selling programmes on the day and with clearing up afterwards. This will be a fantastic community event and an opportunity to raise lots of money towards the redevelopment of our kitchen.

Please come down to the HQ beforehand to collect some programmes for sale (times and dates as per recent email from Nigel). If you haven’t had an email or want some more programmes please call Nigel on 07715760400 to ask for more.

Also, call Nigel to let him know how you plan to help on the day!!

Just a quick note to say that we will start back next term on Monday 1st September – so that we can plan for the Transport Gala (7th September) as we need help from everyone (explorers and parents) on the day to help us raise as much money as possible!!

There will also be some work to do on the HQ over the summer trimming the trees etc – so when you see the notes please come on down and help out!!

3rd Hampton is one of the charities that will benefit from the money raised from the souvenir programmes and the explorers will be fully involved in the event by selling programmes before and at the event and assisting in the clean up afterwards.

The money raised will be used to enlarge and develop the kitchen at our HQ so the explorers will gain a very clear benefit as the plan is to make the kitchen twice the size and with “proper” catering equipment in there i.e. stainless steel work surfaces, large cooker, etc., etc. – this will mean that we will be able to do some serious catering and hold more events at the HQ.

Watch out for my emails re involvement in the event, we expect all explorers and their families to get involved and help as well as to spread the word and get as many family and friends to come down to what will be a very busy day and to buy the souvenir programmes!!

Check out the photos and videos of our “Stick bomb” evening – some “Cobra” stick bombs with varying degrees of success – lets go for using all 4,000 sticks next time and we need to work on how to go around corners!!
